A few weeks ago, while sitting on the floor practicing some foreign yoga pose where I had to put my foot behind head and balance on my hands, I discovered the invasion of dimples on my thighs. Immediately my focus shifted from yoga to fat dimples and there I sat staring, unable to move for about 20 minutes. How to get rid of cellulite effectively was the only thing I could think of.
“Where did this come from and more importantly how do I get rid of it?” The dimples, or cellulite (a more technical term), became my focus of attention for the next few weeks. Though I wasn’t happy that cellulite decided to make an appearance on my legs, I found comfort in knowing that I could take action to reduce it and even get rid of the cellulite on my legs altogether.
Cellulite is the basically the lumpy, crater-looking, dimple-like, cottage-cheese type flesh that appears on your butt, thighs, hips, or stomach. Many women (and men) have it and unfortunately is quite common. It’s a result of fat forming in the pockets in the area of skin just below the surface.
Cellulite is not biased. It can appear on “skinny” people just as it appears on over weight people. Life choices can have a large impact on the amount of cellulite you have and how difficult it might be to reduce
4 Reasons Why You Have Cellulite*
- You eat way too much processed foods
- You don’t drink enough Water
- You aren’t doing enough cardio to burn excess fat
- You aren’t doing enough strength training to tone muscles.
*These reasons may or may not apply to your individual situation or they could be in addition to other reasons not listed
I’ve found that when I begin to slack on my healthy eating regimen, I have more cellulite. I’ve also notice that when I have strategic skin care regimen that includes exfoliating and hydrating my skin, my cellulite is less noticeable.
