Don’t get discouraged by a first-quarter slack off—look and feel great now! Like many of us, right around Jan. 1, you may have made personal promises to break last year’s unhealthy ways and become the most glowing version of you in 2012. It’s March—how’s it going? Working out is already on your radar, so, instead, here are three other super-simple ways to feel great and get that glow ASAP.

New habit: Catching all your z’s
You’re not “wasting time” if you’re asleep for seven to nine hours. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, not getting ample shut-eye can lead to various conditions, such as diabetes, cardiovascular disease, obesity and depression. Can’t find your sleep groove? Amp up your bed’s comfy factor (time to buy those new pillows!), establish a soothing routine (a relaxing bath or reading works), and avoid caffeine and alcohol before bed.
Bad habit: Stocking the cupboards with packaged foods
New habit: Fixing homegrown fare
Whether you’re up for sprouting a little backyard veggie garden (Atlanta Botanical Garden has classes), or would rather shop a farmers market, you can’t go wrong with adding more fresh produce to your diet. Fruits and vegetables provide instant energy, and make your skin healthier and hair shinier, among other things. The U.S. Department of Agriculture recommends filling at least half of each plate with fruits and vegetables, about 4½ cups a day.
Bad habit: Letting the stress build until you explode… at your mom, dog, the wall
New habit: Investing in regular stress relief
“Stress less” is easy to say, not so easy to do, right? The thing is, mental stress and anxiety make it hard to focus on anything (work, exercise, what your girlfriend’s saying… ). Researchers at the National Center for Complementary and Alternative Medicine found that massage therapy can ease anxiety and decrease blood pressure. So if you’re feeling frazzled, put a spa appointment on the books.
