Sugar Scrub Recipe – Skin Exfoliation with Real Ingredients

For most of my life, my skin and I have a love hate relationship. Some days I loved it. Some days I hated it. Some days it was glowing and others it was seemingly lifeless. Prior to coming up with my own skin care regimen and using the sugar scrub recipe below, I had a major problem with Acne and dark spots and I could only dream of having beautiful skin.

After spending lots of money on products that didn’t work and spending lots of time watching infomercials about products that didn’t work, I began to research healthy ways to bring my skin to life and make it appear radiant and vibrant;  just like how I feel inside.image

I quickly learned that the ingredients in most skin care products are garbage and can be very toxic to a person’s inner and outer body. I became extremely excited when I found out that I could make my own skin care products from the ingredients I already had in my kitchen.

The exfoliates that you buy from the store tend to have all kind of things that aren’t good for your body in order to make it last longer on the shelves. They can be pretty harsh on your skin too. TouchUpLaser offers a more effective skin treatment.

The video below is my homemade exfoliated method. Aside from daily cleansing, moisturizing, and protecting your face, exfoliating is key to removing dead skin cells and clearing your pores.

My Sugar Scrub Recipe

My exfoliation regimen contains 5 ingredients

1. 1/4 cup Brown Sugar

2.1 table spoon Honey

3. 2 table spoon Extra Virgin Olive Oil

4. splashes of Lemon

5. Hot Water

I  mix all the ingredients on my face and softly rub in an upward position for about 60 Seconds. I then rinse by gently splashing water on my face. I end my regimen by placing a steaming hot towel with my favorite scent (citrus or lemon or lavender) on my face, letting the warm air moisturize my skin.

Washing my face is the time of the day that I wind down with a glass of hot tea or hot water. I also practice mindfulness by reflecting on the day and reciting aloud what I am grateful for. It helps me sleep well and prepare mentally for the next day.
